The Sweetness of Grandmas

After helping grandma make dinner and set the table, Elle took herself upstairs to her room to get her jammies on. Then she gathered up her blankie and a book and asked grandma to read her a story. It think it took less than 3 pages for her to conk out on her sweet grandma's lap. Poor Ellie didn't even make it to dinner tonight, she was so worn out.

What a lucky 3-year-old princess.

The War Between the Lightness and Darkness People

Once Michael completed his masterpieces, I asked him to explain their story to me. Here is the beginning of what he said:

"There was two worlds. There was a dark world and a light world - and in the middle it was so light that it was white and both of those people would die if they went in the middle. So they stayed in their own land.

"And there was an ocean under everyone. And then the guy from the light world tried to destroy the shield from the dark world. But he rode on a machine from the light world and it had bullets go out so fast that they turned red and the red looked like fire. But, this somebody who was riding a machine tried to destroy to the shield to the darkness world, and, but the bullets were not strong enough to beat the giantest shield of the darkness world."

He dictated the rest to me, but it did not save and was the lost :(. So we are left with just the first half of the original story and the video of how he retold it later for Family Home Evening.

What a creative guy! I LOVED this story of lightness vs. darkness. He came up with it totally by himself.

Exploring the Woods of Artice

We love Artice! We got to spend our Sunday afternoon visiting her on her glorious ranch.

Artice has this amazing property equipped with horses, giant playful dogs and WOODS. Michael, Elle and Fielding had the time of their lives tromping through the woods, jumping over streams and climbing in trees.

Michael just realized he's holding THE most perfect toy in the world - a stick!

The best thing for a boy to do with a new toy?

BRAKE it! Of course!

Even better! TWO sticks!

HIIYahh! Super Ninja Michael!

And silliness breeds MORE silliness.

Looks like I've got a future majorette on my hands!

And now onto different, new silliness.
